FIREFIGHTERS SAVE MULTIPLE HOMES FROM UKI BUSHFIRE
Residents in the village of Uki on the far north coast were bracing for the worst last night, as an out of control bushfire threatened homes. It scorched more than 120 hectares of bushland. BUSHFIRE CONDITIONS SET TO WORSEN
The Rural Fire Service has serious concerns about the potential for dangerous bushfires in the Northern Rivers, suspending fire permits for at least the next 10 days. Conditions are so bad, it’ll take at least 150 millimetres of rain to restore moisture in the soil.
