Central North Rugby will not be fielding an open men’s or colts side for the upcoming Country Championships. President Tony Byrnes says there’s a local lack of interest in representative rugby.

The 2018 rugby union calendar is set to be a whole lot bigger after Central North and New England voted to join forces. It’s said to boost player numbers dramatically, with fine tuning expected to be complete by the end of next month.

Four Central North rugby union juniors have been named in the New South Wales Waratahs’ Under 19s elite development program.
