Cr CLAIRE PONTIN ELECTED MIDCOAST COUNCIL MAYOR
The Mid Coast officially has a new mayor, with Claire Pontin taking on the top job. The former deputy mayor defeated councilor Peter Epov seven to four in a vote amongst councilors this afternoon. Councilor Alan Tickle was also elected deputy mayor. The roles will be up for grabs again in September, next year.

DAVID WEST RETAINED AS MIDCOAST COUNCIL MAYOR
David West has been returned as MidCoast mayor, but it hasn’t been without challenges. Councillor Peter Epov was also gunning for the role at this afternoon’s council meeting, but he was outvoted 5-2. Councillor Katheryn Smith abstained from voting for personal reasons.
