COAST COVID-19 CASES HIT 104 AS KINCUMBER HIGH REOPENS
Two new cases of coronavirus have been recorded on the Central Coast since yesterday, bringing the region’s total to 104. Meanwhile, Kincumber High School has been cleaned and reopened, after an 18-year-old male student was diagnosed with the disease.

COVID-19: NSW HEALTH AND TEACHERS TRACE KINCUMBER STUDENT’S CONTACTS
It’s what Central Coast parents have been dreading – today, Kincumber High became the first school to close in the region after a student tested positive to coronavirus. The patient is currently in self-isolation at home, as 900 classmates and their families wait to hear if they may be at risk.

The federal government’s Job Keeper subsidy has been welcomed on the Central Coast, though the finer points are still being worked out. With upwards of 5,000 businesses shutting their doors amid the coronavirus crisis locally, it’s hoped the policy will stop more from closing.

GP CALLS FOR COAST ROADS TO CLOSE IN COVID-19 “EXPERIMENT”
There are calls for the Central Coast to be blocked off to outsiders, in a bid to stop the spread of the virus. A local GP is leading the charge for roads to close in a “social experiment”, also saying Sydneysiders shacking up in our region over the weekend, must take social distancing seriously.

Work is underway to help the Central Coast’s up and coming athletes adapt to training amid the coronavirus pandemic. The region’s academy of sport taking its programs online although it remains hopeful some sports will be back on track within six months.

COUNCIL TO HELP COVID-19 IMPACTED BUSINESSES
Central Coast Council says it’s doing its bit, to provide relief to businesses impacted by the COVID 19 pandemic. Council will now refund those which have paid service fees to the local government, up until June 30. That includes charges for things like alfresco dining and event fees.
