Girl suffers serious smoke inhalation after electric skateboard catches fire in her room
A 12-year-old girl has suffered serious smoke inhalation, during a Lithium-ion battery fire at Yamba. She was woken last night by the crackling sound of her electric skateboard on fire as it charged in her bedroom. The family of five managed to escape the blaze, and the girl was taken to hospital for further treatment.

FIRE SAFETY REMINDER AS WINTER STARTS
The Rural Fire Service is renewing its safety calls – after putting out seven structure fires, across the state, on the first day of Winter. Among the jobs – a shed and caravan caught alight at Mongogarie south of Casino just after midnight. The owner wasn’t hurt. (NO AUDIO)
