WEATHER: CLOUDY EAST OF THE DIVIDE BLUE SKIES TO THE WEST
PHOTO: Sent in by Peter Humphreys at Evans Head. It’s a classic set up after a change comes through the onshore winds force the moist air in over the coast and a think layer of cloud develops over the eastern slopes breaking up the further you travel inland over the ranges until you reach the…

WEATHER: SPECTACULAR SPRING
Cool, dry, south-westerly winds moved across the region today, making for perfect blues skies overhead. Afternoon cloud increased, building to some isolated storm activity in south east Queensland and north east New South Wales. A nice, big storm rolled over Coolangatta. Tomorrow will be more of the same without the storm development.

WEATHER: ECL TO MOVE AWAY QUICKLY
A fast moving low has been making it’s way across NSW today. An early morning line of storms cleared and this afternoon the core of the system fired up patchy rain periods across the region with more storms across the NW Plains. Tonight the centre of the low will move offshore. Gale force winds and…

WEATHER: SPRING WIND AND RAIN ON THE WAY
After a perfect start to spring, the cloud has been rolling in today and rain is on the way. A well-organised low is moving quickly across the south east. Winds will pick up speed and become strong to gale force, with the stronger winds felt on the Central Coast and Hunter overnight on Thursday. Rain…

WEATHER: MORE RAIN IN THE NORTH
The intense east coast low that has wreaked havoc across south east NSW is helping to draw moisture across central Australia. Conditions are set to get very warm over the next few days, thanks to building north westerly winds drawing warm air from central Australia across the region. Over the weekend we’ll see some pre-frontal shower activity ahead of next week’s rain event. South east Queensland and north east New South Wales will have a consistent…

WEATHER: INLAND RAIN ON THE HORIZON
It has been very a long time in between drinks for the North West. Early next week we may finally see some rain in that area. I’ll be checking in with this developing system each day to make sure it remains on track. Until then, a few isolated coastal showers will be about for the…

WEATHER: FRESHENING SOUTHERLY
Inland is in for a fine and very comfortable weekend. Along the coast, a moderate southerly is going to kick in during Saturday and will push in a few isolated showers from Gosford to Port Stephens. There will also be an isolated shower or two further north during the mid to late afternoon. The winds…

WEATHER: FRIENDLY CONDITIONS LOCALLY BUT NOT OVERSEAS
The cold nights and frosty mornings are going to continue, but the days will become milder as a large high moves across the region. South west to south east winds will ease across the weekend. The El Nino is already having a profound affect on global weather. The first super Typhoon Souldelor intensified, with core…
