The future of the Woolgoolga Seahorses will be decided tomorrow night when the town’s rugby league community meets to form a new committee. The club failed to enter the group 2 competition this year because of a lack of players and officials.

In Group 2 Rugby League, and many teams will have a lot to prove this weekend. The Grafton Ghosts continue to suffer multiple first grade injuries. While the Rebels will have it tough, taking on ladder leaders, Orara Valley Axemen.

Coffs Harbour had a comprehensive win yesterday over Macksville while Orara Valley dished out a 122-point flogging to the struggling Nambucca Roosters. The Rebels, meanwhile, returned to form to stage an upset over competition leaders Sawtell.

The 20-18 Country Rugby League Championships kick off this weekend, with the North Coast looking to defeat the Central Coast at Macksville. Players then have to back up the next day, for the local Group Two tournament.

In Group Two Rugby League, Sawtell Panthers will go head-to-head with the Coffs Harbour Comets for the first time this season. Both sides are sitting equal ladder leaders ahead of the Round Four match of the week.

There was a major upset in Group 2 rugby league yesterday with Sawtell running out surprising winners over the mighty Grafton Ghosts – who were lacking key players. In other matches the Rebels accounted for Nambucca and Orara Valley had a solid win over Macksville.

The curtain raiser for Group Two Rugby League is set to be a crowdstopper tomorrow. The South Grafton Rebels are preparing to take on the Grafton Ghosts in a replay of last year’s Grand Final.

It’s building up to a big weekend of knock out competition in Group 2 Rugby League. In the first finals clash of the season, Sawtell will take on Woolgoolga – where it’ll be end of the line for one of them.
