In local league, the stage is set for a fiery group 3 grand final in Port Macquarie on Sunday. Port City is gunning for back-to-back premierships, while the Mustangs are hoping to cause the upset of the year.

MUSTANGS BOOK GRAND FINAL BERTH
Macleay Valley will take on Port City in the group 3 decider, after downing Taree City in the preliminary final. Trailing by six at the break, the Mustangs staged a comeback in the second half to claim the win.

BREAKERS STORM THROUGH TO GRAND FINAL
To Group 3 now, and defending premiers the Port City Breakers have broken a nine year drought to host the grand final, thanks to a 22-point win over Macleay Valley. The Mustangs will play Taree City this weekend for the second spot in the decider.

BULLS THROUGH TO PRELIMINARY FINAL
Taree City has kept its group 3 premiership hopes alive, downing Port Macquarie by four points in the elimination semi-final. The Bulls will play the loser of this afternoon’s game for a spot in the decider.

In group 3 rugby league, the first grand final spot is up for grabs this weekend, when minor premiers Port City host the Mustangs. Meanwhile, the Port Macquarie Sharks have been thrown a minor curveball… with their home semi-final moved to Wauchope.

Taree City has booked its spot in the Group 3 semi-final, upsetting the Pirates in yesterday’s elimination game. The Bulls, ending Old Bar’s season by 4 points.
