Ballina temporary housing site nearing completion in time for Christmas
Ballina’s temporary housing site for flood affected residents is nearing completion, 16 weeks after construction commenced. The village is set to open in the coming weeks, ahead of Christmas. Lismore, Brunswick and Mullumbimby will be the next sites to become operational. (Audio in parts)

New pod village opens to house 240 flood affected residents in Coraki
The Northern Rivers newest pod village has welcomed residents in Coraki. The newly established site at Spring Street consists of 56 units of various sizes, which have the capacity to house up to 240 people. The region now has temporary housing infrastructure to accomodate nearly 1000 people as construction continues at five other locations.

More support is on the way for dozens of displaced residents, affected in the February floods. Now, a second temporary housing village is open at Pottsville.

At-home caravan program extended to assist those still needing housing options
More is being done to combat the challenge of housing in flood affected communities. The state government is extending the at-home caravan program to residents in 15 areas. Those in suburbs listed in the Ballina, Lismore and Tweed LGAs will be eligible to register through provider Camplify. (NO AUDIO)
