After three podium finishes, and a long wait, Newcastle trainer Ben Smith and his prized mare In Her Time have recorded their first Group 1 win in today’s Galaxy Stakes. Le Romain was well back in that race, but Kris Lees still finished with three podiums.

1-2 FINISH FOR KRIS LEES IN MISSILE STAKES
Another boost for Kris Lees’ hopes of qualifying for the $10-million Everest. The Newcastle trainer wanted a win from Le Romain in the Group 2 Missile Stakes today to press its claims for a start Australia’s richest race. He did get one, but it was from his other runner Invincible Gem. Le Romain was second.
