Kris Lees star runner Le Romain will now take on Winx after narrow victory in today’s group one Canterbury Stakes. The gelding was pushed all the way by Chautauqua, but managed to get home by the narrowest of margins.

EARLY TEST FOR NEW NJC COURSE PROPER
It’s not set to host its first meeting until March 17, but today the $11-million redevelopment of the NJC’s course proper was tested for the first time. The Kris Lees stable posted this video on social media, showing a handful of horses having a gallop. Official trials are set down for January 25.
