LISMORE COUNCIL APPROVES APARTMENT COMPLEX
Work will soon begin on a $13-million apartment complex in Lismore. Council has approved the sale of almost three-thousand square metres of Harold Fredericks Carpark, to make way for the three storey development. Lismore City Lions Club is looking forward to seeing the town’s iconic Lions fountain restored to its former glory, after members handed council almost $70,000 towards its refurbishment. Fork out $70 dollars a fortnight, or park kilometres away and walk. That’s the choice Lismore Base Hospital staff say they’ll face, when revised parking measures come into effect late next month. Disgruntled, many took to the streets today, calling for a fair go.

GALLERY GREEN-LIT AS FUNDRAISING CONTINUES
Supporters of Lismore’s soon-to-be-built regional gallery have vowed to continue raising money for the project. While it’s now fully funded, thanks to a half-a-million dollar donation from the Margaret Olley Arts Trust, they’re still hoping to collect more donations. Extra funds will be given back to Lismore Council, to reduce the project’s burden on its budget.…
