Two boaties had a lucky escape, when their catamaran overturned on the Central Coast last night. The pair were stranded off Macmasters Beach, when lifesavers came to their aid around 6:30pm. The men weren’t injured and were eventually escorted back safely to land. (VISION ONLY.)

SWIMMER SUFFERS SPINAL INJURIES ON CENTRAL COAST
A woman’s suffered suspected spinal injuries, after being dumped by a wave at Macmasters Beach this afternoon. The Westpac Rescue chopper was called out shortly after 1pm. The 55-year-old was treated by paramedics, before being airlifted to Sydney’s Royal North Shore Hospital.

PROGRAM TEACHING FUTURE GENERATION OF COAST SURF LIFE SAVERS
The next generation of Central Coast surf life savers have kicked off their training season. Four-hundred rookies have been welcomed into a new program looking to equip them with the skills to keep us safe on the beach well into their bronze medallion years.
