Wayne Bennett has told Knights officials to stick with coach Nathan Brown, despite Newcastle facing a third straight wooden spoon, following last night’s loss to the Broncos. On the Gold Coast, the Titans shocked the Sharks, while the Knights surrendered another half time lead.

It was expected, but today Wayne Bennett confirmed Broncos wrecking-ball Herman Ese Ese will be a Newcastle Knight in 2018. There’s also strong mail out of Sydney that Roosters utility Connor Watson is also set to sign in the Hunter, knocking back a big money deal at the Tigers.

Just when the unlikely looked possible – the Knights have had victory snatched away from them in the dying seconds at Belmore Oval. Last night, the Panthers and the Eels recorded wins, while the Bulldogs fought back to beat Newcastle, in one of the most chaotic finishes of the season.

BUHRER BACK FROM INJURY FOR THE KNIGHTS
An early boost for the Newcastle Knights, with Wests Tigers fullback James Tedesco ruled out of their clash at McDonald Jones Stadium tomorrow with an ankle injury. It’s a contrast to the Knights, who’ll welcome back Jamie Buhrer from injury, and Trent Hodkinson to first-grade. Kick-off is at 2pm, and a bumper crowd is expected.

DANE GAGI CLEARED TO PLAY ON SUNDAY
Maroons hero Dane Gagai has been cleared to play for the Knights against the Dragons on Sunday, after pulling up well at today’s final training run. There’s also reports Tyler Randall has now signed to play in the English Super League – and could leave before June 30 – although there’s been no word on…
