A 44-year-old man, charged over the death of a man at an industrial site in Newcastle yesterday afternoon, has been granted bail. SHARK SCARE CLOSES MEREWETHER BEACH
In Newcastle, Merewether Beach was closed for several hours this morning after a possible shark sighting. A local surfer reported seeing a large shadow in the water at around nine o’clock, before raising the alarm.
