In the first leg of the finals in the Hunter’s NPL Competition, and Maitland and Edgeworth have seen out a 2 all draw at Cooks Square Park this afternoon. Tomorrow Broadmeadow and Hamilton will go head to head at Magic Park.

In the NPL’s final round, Broadmeadow locked in third with a win over fourth-placed Maitland, while Hamilton grabbed second and the Eagles beat Rosebud. To the Hunter’s National premier League competition and the Lambton Jaffas have had an afternoon to forget. The Jets Youth gave a strong performance, here netting this second half goal thanks to some strong support play. Scary scenes though after this nasty tackle, thankfully the player was uninjured. Broadmeadow striker James Virgili is expected to miss the rest of the regular season in the Hunter’s NPL competition, after suffering a shoulder injury against Hamilton yesterday. The division’s leading scorer will see a specialist on Friday, in the hope of being back in time for the finals.
