CORAKI LASHED BY SEVERE STORM
The small town of Coraki on the state’s Far North Coast, has been lashed by a severe storm over night. At least four roofs were ripped from homes, as winds reached up to 120-kilometres an hour.

UPDATE: ELDERLY MAN NOT STRUCK BY LIGHTNING
Paramedics were called to East Maitland this morning, following reports an elderly man had been hit by lightning. They arrived at the Brisbane Street address shortly after 10:45am, but the 74-year-old didn’t require treatment. NSW Ambulance says a lightning strike nearby knocked the man off his feet. HOSPITAL ON TRACK DESPITE SCAFFOLDING COLLAPSE
Construction workers have begun clearing scaffolding which fell onto the roof of Lismore Base Hospital’s maternity unit, during a storm last Sunday. Despite delays caused by the repairs, New South Wales Health Infrastructure is confident the hospital’s $80-million re-development will be completed on time, by mid-2016.
