BUCHAN BOWS OUT AT BELLS
Avoca’s Adrian Buchan suffered an agonising loss in the Rip Curl Pro’s round of 32 against Japan’s Kanoa Igarashi. Ace needed close to a seven on his final wave to advance and threw everything into his final manoeuvre, including his knee brace. But it wasn’t enough, going down by 0.14 on Friday.

BELL TOLLS FOR CALLAGHAN AT RIP CURL PRO
Tour rookie Macy Callaghan has been knocked out of the women’s competition at the Rip Curl Pro. The Avoca surfer struggled early on in the heat, before managing a 6 point ride at Bells Beach. But it was far from enough to secure a spot in the quarterfinals, falling behind Hawaiian Carissa Moore.

RYAN CALLINAN TO FACE MICHEL BOUREZ AT BELLS
Merewether’s Ryan Callinan has drawn France’s Michel Bourez in the man-on-man Round of 32, which is expected to take place tomorrow. The pair has only faced off once before, with Bourez outclassing the Australian at the J-Bay Open in South Africa, back in 2016. (VISION ONLY)
