    A 57-year-old man suffering a medical episode has been rescued from the water at Wategos beach at Byron Bay. Surf Life Saving, paramedics and the Westpac Ambulance Rescue Helicopter all responded to calls for help. The man was airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition. (NO AUDIO)
