BALLINA DEFEATS WOLLONGBAR IN FNCRU’S FIRST ROUND
Rugby Union is back on the Far North Coast, with round one kicking off yesterday. In the first grade, reigning premiers Lennox Head thrashed Casuarina Beach by 28 points. Bangalow defeated Lismore, and Ballina made a strong comeback to beat Wollongbar-Alstonville.

Yesterday’s preliminary finals in Far North Coast Rugby Union left spectators on the edge of their seats, as Ballina and Wollongbar battled it out for a spot in the decider. It was a close game, but Wollongbar managed to wrangle the Seahorses, by four points.

In Far North Coast Rugby Union, Wollongbar and Casuarina lined up yesterday to determine who would make it into the preliminary finals. It was a nailbiter, but Wollongbar managed to finish on top, winning 31-29. Wollongbar takes on Ballina next weekend for a spot in the decider. (AUDIO IN PARTS)

NAILBITING FINAL ROUND IN FNCRU BETWEEN BALLINA AND WOLLONGBAR
For the Seventh and final round of Far North Coast Rugby Union, there was plenty of energy with all teams battling to end the season on a high. Lennox Head overthrew Bangalow, 35-18, while Casuarina smashed Casino. Grafton delivered a 40 point thrashing against Lismore… And, it was a nailbiter when Ballina took on Wollongbar.

To Far North Coast Rugby Union and ladder leaders, Wollongbar-Alstonville, won against second-from-the-top Ballina in a high scoring contest. Lennox Head outclassed Casino, while Byron Bay edged out Lismore. In other games, Casuarina Beach won against Grafton 33-31. And Southern Cross Uni got home against Bangalow 13-10.

Far North Coast Rugby Union ladder leaders, Wollongbar-Alstonville, have beaten Lennox Head in this weekends game. Southern Cross Uni outclassed Lismore in a high scoring contest, Byron Bay edged out Casuarina Beach. In other games, Ballina beat Casino 29-19, and Grafton got home against Bangalow 24 points to 13.
